2. Information we collect
We collect information needed to process admission applications and care for your child, including: parent/guardian names, contact details, ID numbers and addresses; children's names, dates of birth, medical information and allergies; emergency contacts and authorized pickup persons; and supporting documents you upload (birth certificates, IDs, proof of address, immunization records).
3. Why we collect it
We use personal information to: process and manage admission applications; manage enrolment, class placement and capacity; communicate with you about your child, events and announcements; keep your child safe (medical alerts, authorized collection); and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Children's information
Information about children is especially sensitive. Access to child records inside our system is restricted to authorized staff who need it for their duties. We never sell or share children's personal information with third parties for marketing.
5. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, role-based access control, audit logging of administrative actions, and private (non-public) storage for uploaded documents. Application documents are only accessible to you and authorized staff.
6. Retention
We retain admission and enrolment records for as long as required by law and for legitimate historical and reporting purposes. Documents relating to unsuccessful applications may be anonymized or deleted after the applicable retention period.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you may request access to your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@progressivechildcarecentre.co.za.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for secure sign-in sessions and chat continuity. We do not use advertising trackers.
